Anegundi Heritage House

Only 15 km from the 14th century Vijayanagara temples of Hampi, the Anegundi Heritage House is tucked into the hillside, a comfortable distance away from the tourist throng. Located on the banks of the river Tungabhadra, just across Hampi, Anegundi is believed to be the mythical town of kishkinda, from the time of the Ramayana. The only ‘noise’ around is the rustling of leaves and the splash of nearby waterfalls. Part of heritage preservation by the Kishkinda Trust, This house is a far cry from the luxury of a hotel, but it so typically local that it is impossibly endearing. Participate in ongoing organic farming and local arts taught in the area.
