A Private beach on the Arabian Sea, a tented camp on the sands, the beautiful Vijay palace behind and 450 acres of jungle around you -could anything be more appealing for the 10 hand-crafted tents, with their period furniture and décor, wouldn’t be out of place at a royal hunt of yore, but the good news is that they come equipped with a very modern bathroom and air-conditioning. You are however, likely to spend most of your time lounging around on the beach, waited on by the staff Who will serve your meals right where you sit. You can also eat at the thatched restaurant, where you can choose from Indian, Continental and Chinese food, with a sprinkling of local dishes all of, which are uniformly good.

Stay in a luxury, hand-crafted tent right on the private beach attached to the Vijay Vilas Palace in Mandvi. Orginally part of the summer residence for the Maharaja of Kutch, mandvi Beach is a gently curving stretch of powdery sand, the ocean on one side, a row of windmills and the sunset pavilion on the Other. The ocean is safe for swimming, and the sand dunes nearby are great if you feel like a Canter on a horse, or a plodding ride on a camel. Each of the tents is a colourful combination that playfully blends the campsite with the colonial: bold striped Canvas compliments the carved furniture. The thatch and bamboo restaurant by the sea has a great selection of seafood and local specialties.
