Stroll through paddy fields and coconut plantations, wander into villages lost in lush greenery, go fishing in a quaint old boat. You can lose yourself at Emerald Isle, an idyllic 150-year-old heritage villa that belongs to the Job family. Their boatman collects you in a dugout from Landing Point, and your arrival is slow and leisurely, ending in glasses full of refreshing coconut water or filter coffee. Guest rooms are furnished with antique carved teakwood furniture belonging to the family and a couple of the rooms even have traditional open-air bathrooms. You’ll find an ancient coffee table in the living room and reams of history in the library.
