Nameri Eco Camp

A River runs through it, bubbling and rushing. Catch fish, tag them and quickly throw them back. Plant saplings together and get down and dirty, as you grow green with your surroundings. A youngster from the Mising tribe will be happy to show you how to catch fish without harming them. You’ll catch glimpse of the endangered golden mahseer in the Jia Bhoroli waters. Here, you’re just 10minutes from the river and the Nameri National park is all around you. Generous-sized army tents are set on concrete platforms with a thatched roof, with beds that have thick bamboo frames and quilts to snuggle into. Attached bathrooms have running hot water, so don’t worry about those kind of sacrifices. The Eco-Camp is managed by assam Veteran Society’s Ronesh Roy, Who’s managed to turn the local tribesfolk into staunch eco-guardians. No small achievement.
