Orchid Lake Resort

Located on the banks of Lake Umiam, Orchid Lake Resort is not much to look at and boasts no high-end luxuries. But then again, that isn’t what we’re looking for here. More important is what can be seen from the resort, which is an altogether different story. On the banks of the lake, set amidst hills and meadows, the resort is perfect for doing little. But if you’re feeling the tiniest bit active, visit Cherrapunjee and Mawsynram, which has wrested the former’s title as the wettest place on earth. For a bit of fun, check out the archery contest that is held everyday at 4.15 pm at Shillong.
