A Century-Old English style bungalow from the Raj era, Pinewood ashok is a rare gem polished to perfection. Ancient as it may sound, the hotel is amazingly well-maintained, and the cracks aren’t showing. It is full of turn-of-the century furniture and an abundance of rich wooden interiors that lend it an air of comfort. Warm lighting, lovely firekplaces and scattered knick-knacks complete the picture. However, it is the stunning views of the landscape outside that’s the hotel’s biggest attraction and in it self makes a great reason to visit. in fact, you needn’t even step out-the large bay windows are perfect to watch the changing light on the green. There’s plenty to see in Shillong, and the picturesque Wards Lake is just a few minutes away, but it is also lperfectly understandable if you want to just lie around and while away you time. We don’t blame you.
