    Ramathra fort

    Kingfishers, sarus cranes, stilts and herons rise in flight over Lake kaisil while you sit on the fort’s ramparts and look out over farmland, the urgged scrub of the Daang plateau. Walk along the lake to the hillsides in the blue eveing-you may be lucky and spot nilagi. Accommodation is in six beautifully designed luxury tents inside the fort, and each spacious interior is furnished in teakwood and traditional flat woven rugs. There’s a sitting room and private attached bathroom in stone and mortar. There are no televisions or electronic distractions, so ready yourself for conversation.
