River Tern Lodge

PREENinG, feeding, cackling birds with white wings flashing they give their name to the River Tern Lodge. Located in the middle of the Western Ghats in the Chikmagalur district of karnataka, the lodge is lperfectly placed to allow you to view no tonly terns, but tigers and elephants as well, since ist is just four km from the Bhadra Tiger Reserve, and close to the Tyverekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari and the Sakkerbyle Elephant camp. There are five cottages and five log cabins, socily furnished, each with verandahs that overlook the water of the Bhadra reservoir. Waves from the river occasionally stir the water’s edge and there are opportunities for boating. Food is served bufet-style in the Gol Ghar gazebo and eveings are devoted to wildlife documentaries. After the monsoon is the best time to visit, when It’s all lush and green.
