Billing offers some of the world’s best hang gliding. The Himachal Government Tourism sets up tents in May and June so that hang gliders can have it easy in the pastoral surroundings. However you can base yourself at the comfortable Taragarth palace Hotel, 35km away. Taragarh was built as a holiday resort in the 1930s and belongs to the present royal family of Kashmir. Built in Euripean style, it has wide verandahs, 26 sunny rooms and fireplaces to snuggle by on cold nights. There are lush gardens to walk in and horses to trot on if you feel so inclined.
