The Camp

Ten luxury tents with air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms set in a 300acre plantation that grows coffee, spices and oranges. This is the Camp, Coorg. Complete with an infinity pool and a speciality restaurant, there’s all sorts of things to do: angling in the Cauvery, elephant rides or viewing at the adjacent Dubare Elephant Camp, or trekking and hiking in the reserve forests. If This sounds like too much work, you can just sit outside your tent and snooze, bird watch or read. For a little more blood-pumping activity-we mean haggling-make a day trip to Madikeri where you can shop for locally grown products such as spices, cardamom, pepper, wild honey and of coursse, coffee. The region is also famous for its silk saris.
