The fort House Hotel

This traditional ancestral home-turned –hotel is Located in the old town of fort Kochi, a trading region that has been heavily influenced by the Arb, Jewish, Dutch and British trades Who, over the centuries, conducted their business here. Close to kerala’s lush palm groves, rice fields and quiet backwaters, fort kochi has retained its original structure and design-tiled roofs and high wooden ceilings keep the sun away, and most of the spacious rooms are built entirely of bamboo. The famous fort House Restaurant offers cuisine that reflects a Latin Chrstian-style preparation, with Portuguese influences. Vasco House, believed to be the house of the explorer Vasco da Gama and the oldest residence in kochi, is within easy reach, as is the16th century Santa Cruz Basilica, the Dutch cemetery and the old Bishops’ House.
