The House of Mangaldas Girdhardas

the only boutique hotel in Ahmedabad, the House of MG is a stately colonial haveli that overtly speaks of the British Raj of the 1920s. Much of the building and ambience has been retained while adding all the requisite comforts that we have now come to expect. The pillars, flooring, ceiling, arches, doorways and erandahshark back to a different age in the country’s history. After checking in, head out to the numerous sights of Ahmedabad, especially the old part of the city. Start with the Heritages walk, which should give you a fair idea of the city’s ancestry. And then, in no particular order, see the Swami Narayan Mandir, the haveli of Doshiwada Ni pol, Manek Chowk, Jama Masjid, Teen Darwaza, Gandhi Memorial and Museum, and the sidi saiyad mosque, which is opposite the hotel.
