47. Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge

HIGH in the Himalayas, with stunning views across to some of the world’s highest peaks, sits the Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Here you usher in mornings by watching the sunrise on the Machhapuchhare from your verandah with a warm cuppa in hand and fresh cakes or fruit on the table. And that’s only morning tea. Breakfast features organic preserves, freshly baked bread, yoghurt, cereal and eggs as you like them. Lunch and It’s time for a Nepali buffet, while at dinner, Continental food rules the table; there are also pre-dinner cocktails to add some spirit to the proceedings or just help you lunwind. The walk back to your cottage is lit with torches and kerosene lamps. There’s plenty of privacy all around, but if you feel like getting out and about, just head out of your room to explore the spa, or better yet, the jungle, on a walk.
