50. Yak and Yeti

The name yak and yeti might sound curious for a grand hotel-but to tan extent, the name might say it all; a blend of the tangible with the intangible. The tangible is obvious: it is a fivestar deluxe hotel in the midst of bustling Kathmandu with a heavy accent on comfort and sophistication. The central part of the structure, the Lai Durbar, is mo0re than 200 years old and is the focal point around which everything has been built. But outside the hotel, there’s much to see. Step out into the Durbar Square, the capital’s most noted area with more than a dozen temples and monuments. Also visit Freak Street, once a hippy haven.
