Canoeing Camp, Sri Lanka

PasS through Ratnapura town, borne on the back of the Kalu Ganga River in your tossing Canoes. People give way to lush green forests punctuated by lonely sand collectors' houses. Surrounded by plam trees. The only noises you are guaranteed to hear are birdcalls and the sound of your paddle dipping into the calm water. The pace is leisurely and slow, and suits beginners perfectly; for experts, there are wilder rapids further down. The Sri Lankan Expedition Canoeing Camp will keep up with you and tents will be set up next to the river. This is camping in style-you'll find a dining tent, a kitchen tent and happily, toilets as well. At night, campfires are lit, flaming torches burn around the Whole encampment and barbecues are set up.
