South Point Villa

It's close enough to the crowds to the crowds at Galle to keep you entertained, and far enough to let you breathe. Surrounded by beach in the tiny fishing hamlet of kathaluwa, South point villa is a lovely, warm place to stay, and we aren't talking about the sun, either. Canopies wrap the four-poster beds in the three large bedrooms and your clothes go into an antique almirah.. Oh, and we didn't want to tell you, but there's an internet access point as well. Floors are of teak and oak, a range of herbal soaps scent up the bathrooms, and the wooden deck-terrace is a great spot to savour your favourite seafood, prepared with the stilt fishermen's catch of the day. Go snorkelling in the coral pools just in front of the villa when you're tired of lazing and chase the brightly coloured schools of fish. Best of all, couples get reduced rates for the Whole villa and can even rent out individual rooms.
