Udawalawe Luxury Safari Camp

YOU can see large, open parkland, traversed by meandering streams all around you. There are herds of elephants to be spotted at any hour of the day and it you don't catch them, there is the Elephant Transit Centre where feeding time is every three hours. By the river are old teak trees that grow thick and provide shade to leopards, sambar and water buff also. The site is specially chosen next to the river and everything is set up before your arrival, right down to the chilled beer that you'll be chugging, Dining is in the great outdoors (think barbecue and bonfire), and you can choose from a host of activities that include bird watching and safaris, as well as hot-air ballooning.
