SWIM in a lake almost entirely covered with tiny waterlilies; walk down paths its by flickering Candles in the velvety tropical night, and fall asleep to the sounds of night. Here the leaves and flowers are almost close enough to touch from the comfort of your bed. Ulpotha centres on youga, ayurveda and indolent relaxation. The adobe houses are smothered in leaves and flowers and each has its own clearing. Furnishings are as simple as spring water-terracotta pots, coconut cups and piles of bright cushions heaped on the floor. The only wall is behind the beds and the hut is screened by bamboo blinds and a thatched plam leaf roof. For when you''e feeling flexible, yoga instructors are on hand to conduct sessions by the lake.
